The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) is a motorcycle race held on closed public roads on Isle of Man since 1907 but the origins of the event can be traced back to 1904 when they were part of the Gordon Bennett Car Trials, the UK trials for the fledgling European motor racing scene.
Now motor racing commentator Murray Walker OBE, who's father Graham competed in the TT in the 1930's, has curated an exhibition of 100 years of TT races images from the Getty Images archive for an exhibition at the Getty Images Gallery in London. The exhibition will run from 10th to 19th April before transferring to the Isle of Man throughout the summer.

The list of former winners reads like a who's who of motorcycling with luminaries such as Stanley Woods, Geoff Duke, Bob McIntyre, Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood, Joey Dunlop, Steve Hislop, David Jefferies, Dave Molyneux and John McGuinness all having their names engraved on the iconic Winged Mercury trophy.
Fans line the 37 3/4 mile course watching riders reaching speeds of up to 200mph. The current lap record holder John McGuinness broke the overall lap record with a time of 130.354mph at the centenary TT in 2007.
There are race classes for Superbikes, Supersport and Superstock as well as sidecars and the fortnight culminates with the Blue Ribband Senior TT and a parade lap of former stars on vintage machines.
Traditionally held in the last week of May and the first week in June, the Isle of Man is a mecca for motorcycle fans.
