OKI Printing Solutions Cheers on Portsmouth to FA Cup Success!

Slough, Berks and Portsmouth, Hants, 19 May 2008: Club
sponsor, OKI Printing Solutions led the Wembley cheers on Saturday as Portsmouth
Football Club lifted the FA Cup, for the first time since 1939, after beating
Cardiff 1-0 in an exciting final.
"This was a fantastic result," says
Ewa Johnson, marketing director, OKI Printing Solutions, "and great reward for
all Portsmouth's efforts throughout another successful season in which the Club
once again finished in the top half of the Premier League, recognised as one of
the toughest and most exciting leagues in the world.
"OKI and Portsmouth
have both enjoyed tremendous success since we began our partnership in three
years ago. OKI is now the second largest provider of business printers in
Europe, while Portsmouth has become firmly established as one of the leading
clubs in the Premier League."
International success
This
year's final, the second to be held at the new £798 million Wembley Stadium, was
watched by an estimated TV audience of more than 500 million worldwide and
Portsmouth's success means that the team will compete in next season's UEFA
Cup.
"Following on from the Club's success in the prestigious Asia Trophy
Cup in 2007, this provides additional and highly valuable international exposure
for the Portsmouth and OKI brands," confirms Johnson.
Community
support
OKI and Portsmouth FC are set to score their own hat trick,
when the third annual OKI Street Sixes Youth Festival takes place on Sunday 1
June at Wellington Sports Ground, Eastleigh, starting at 10.00am.
The
all-day event, a joint initiative hosted by OKI in association with the
Hampshire Constabulary and Portsmouth FC, was started in 2006 to reward the good
work of the volunteers and the children participating in the OKI Street Sixes
League. Leading striker, Jermain Defoe was recently appointed ambassador to the
League, reflecting the Club's continuing commitment to this highly successful
community programme.
"OKI's and Portsmouth FC's joint focus on developing
strong community programmes continues to bring real benefits to the young people
of Portsmouth in particular," believes Johnson. "At the same time, the Club's
growing success on the pitch has also proved increasingly important in building
awareness of the OKI brand globally."
